Spearheaded by the administrative team of NVORA, the Nevada OHV Youth Helmet Program committee got together in Clark County, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, for a community education & safety event. With a volunteer force from the Nevada Offroad Association (NVORA), University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC), Nevada Outdoor School (NOS), Tread Lightly!, the Bureau of Land Management Las Vegas Field Office (BLM), and Vegas Valley Four Wheelers (VV4W), youths under the age of 16 were fitted for free Axel Offroad USA helmets. In a short, 4-hour period at the Nellis Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area, over 75 children received custom-fitted OHV helmets for free, with funding made possible by UMC’s Healthy Living Institute & Wellness Center.
This statewide program is supported by the Nevada Offroad Association, the Nevada Outdoor School, UMC, Tread Lightly!, Renown Children’s Hospital, Axel Offroad USA, the Bureau of Land Management, and Arevia Power.
