Cash Prizes for best hand and a Dead Man cash bonus for the rider who has the best Genuine Deadman’s Hand of Aces & Eights!
Based on the 2024 feedback this year’s course will be:
• More aggressively marked and physically verified April 5th
• Have .GPX files emailed to all participants by April 2nd
• Have ON-X and Ride Command files online.
• Roughly 60 miles and will include a Turn Out that bypasses one card stop, gives riders a replacement card, and shortcuts on course back to base camp in time to arrive for the drawings and awards

The 2025 Yerington “Deadman’s Hand “ Poker Run
Weed Heights, Nevada
Starts at 9am on Saturday April 5th, 2025.
65$ per vehicle entry fee, includes:
Participation in the event
Qty. 1 raffle ticket
Qty. 1 poker hand – (Additional Poker hands can be purchased in person for $20 at sign in)
Qty. 1 PNMTA 2025 membership
April 5th Schedule
8:00am: Sign-ins Open
8:45am: Pre-run Brief
9:00am: Poker Run Starts
2:30pm: Course Closes
3:00pm: Awards and Raffle
Open to all OHV and other vehicles with moderate clearance.
Four Wheel Drive is encouraged.

The Nevada Offroad Association, Pine Nut Mountain Trails Association, and the Nevada Veterans Coalition, hosted an event to fundraise for the Nevada Veteran’s Coalition Racing, and PNMTA in honor of the memory of Brett G. Brett G. Palmer, passed away on August 23, 2021, at the age of 68 in Fernley, NV.
About Brett G. Palmer
Brett served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and then moved on to a 36-year career in law enforcement where he retired from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department in 2008.
After his retirement, he took over as President of the Nevada Veteran’s Coalition (NVC).
What Is A Poker Run & How Does It Work?
The run is open to all motorized offroaders that can operate on trails though the Smith Valley area. Bring your Jeep, your SxS, your prerunner, your motorcycle, or anything in between, from motorbike to full-sized pick. Poker run rules and details will be listed along with the sign up information.
